The Boge Family Story
First, the Boge family’s connection with rugs goes back to another time and another part of the world.
Their story begins in Sultanhani, a town in central Anatolia, Turkey.
Also, this town has a long history in the carpet and rug trade.
A Tradition Built on Rug Restoration
The Boge family was one of the first families in Sultanhani to work on antique and old rug restoration.
Over time, the family business grew.
In addition, they expanded into rug production, rug maintenance, and the care of both new and old carpets.
As a result, rug restoration became an important part of the family’s knowledge and tradition.
Ali Boge’s Early Years
Ali Boge, Founder and Managing Director of The Rug Experts, was born in Sultanhani in 1963.
After finishing school in 1977, Ali began working as an apprentice.
Then, he joined his brother’s antique carpet and rug repair business in Konya.
Also, this nearby city is known for its strong carpet tradition.
From Turkey to Australia
Ali quickly became well known in the rug repair and restoration trade.
As a result, he was invited to Australia in 1982.
Then, he came to work as a professional rug and carpet repairer.
The Rug Experts in Sydney
In 2000, after 18 years of experience in Australia, Ali opened The Rug Experts.
Since then, the business has become widely regarded in Sydney.
Today, The Rug Experts is known for rug cleaning, rug repair, and rug restoration services.
In addition, the team continues to bring generations of knowledge, care, and craftsmanship to every rug they handle.
Our Passion for Rugs
At The Rug Experts, our work is more than a profession.
In fact, it is also our passion.
We believe every rug has value beyond its appearance.
Also, rugs can carry history, culture, craftsmanship, and family memories.
Each colour, pattern, and design tells a story.
For this reason, we see rugs as more than decorative pieces.
Instead, they are works of art.
Therefore, they bring elegance, warmth, and character into a home.
A Family Business with Generations of Experience
Our journey began as a humble family business.
Over the years, we have built more than 70 years of combined experience.
In addition, this experience includes rug cleaning, hand-washing, and rug repair.
Today, The Rug Experts continues to operate from Earlwood, NSW.
Also, I am proud to work alongside my wife, my son, and a skilled team of rug specialists.
Together, we care for every rug with knowledge, patience, and respect.
Finally, our goal is to protect every rug with the care it deserves.
